First and most importantly, thank you for your willingness to donate a quilt to the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Relief Sale Quilt Auction! We are grateful for your generosity and every quilt is appreciated!
Please read these guidelines for donating quilts to the Sale. At the bottom is a link to the quilt submission form. Guidelines for Donating Quilts
Quilt must be handcrafted, not commercially made
Hand or machine quilted items are accepted
Ensure quilts are made from new fabric
Second owner quilts are welcomed if in excellent condition
Double-check your quilts for stains
Guidelines for Donating Antique or Vintage Quilts
Quilt must be in good condition, not showing much use
All used quilts will be identified as a Vintage Quilt
Identifying old quilts: “A quilt made in the 1920s or earlier is also considered antique.” (From website “Home Guides”)
It is helpful to share information about who made the quilt, its origin, and any other relevant details of its story. Please provide these details in “Comments” on the registration form
Additional Information
Signing and dating a quilt makes it more desirable to buyers and helps document the history of the quilt. Use a patch on the back of the quilt.
Special Note: Please inspect your items carefully and repair or clean areas that need attention. If you are unable to repair, please disclose the imperfections fully, so that the buyer is aware. To keep up the high quality of the sale’s items, the quilt committee reserves the right to place the donated quilt, along with place mats, simple table runners, afghans, or other non-quilt items in the Craft Booth or Quilter’s Corner for selling.
This year we will be hosting a “Preview Session” in Denver, Colorado Springs and LaJunta.
All the quilts will be listed and photographed linked through the RMMC Sale website. The Saturday auction will allow for online bidding, however there will not be any pre-bidding.
Photos
This year, the quilt committee will be responsible for taking pictures of your quilt.
